The goal of this project was to inform people interested in wildlife and conservation about both sides of the concept of trophy hunting.
Trophy hunting is the activity of hunting and killing animals to display part or all of their bodies as trophies. StoryMaps are an ideal way to tell an informative and interactive story with data. This StoryMap highlights the reasons, regulations, export, and export of trophies and the pros and cons, with data visualization and graphics.
For this project, I analyzed the CITES dataset of trophy hunting of African mammals from 2000 to 2017. I mainly processed the data reported quantity by term trophies.
